Meet The Speaker
Rev. Dr. Clennon Saulsberry, Sr

Rev. Dr. Clennon Saulsberry, Sr. is a native of Nesbit, Mississippi. At the age of eight, his family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he graduated from Geeter High School in 1959. Dr. Saulsberry furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a Doctor of Theology.
Saulsberry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military career ended, he worked at International Harvester, Greyhound, and Prudential Insurance. During his 37 years as a sales manager at Prudential, he was a member of the Prudential Million Dollar Roundtable. After retiring from Prudential, he continued working by establishing Saulsberry Ministries, Inc.
Aside from his workplace accomplishments, Dr. Saulsberry has always been committed to his community and the development of youth. In 1978, he won the National Public Service Award. During the years, he has served as President of Community Day Care, Title 20 Board of Directors, Vice President of the Jesse Mahan Day Care Board of Directors, and was a longstanding member of the Girl Scouts of America.
With a heart for people, Dr. Saulsberry continues to be heavily involved in ministries throughout the region. He served as pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church for 12 years, and he recently retired as senior Pastor of New Nonconnah Missionary Baptist Church, where he has served faithfully for 30 years.
Dr. Saulsberry was the Dean of the Memphis Baptist Ministerial Association and a past Moderator of Tennessee. He currently serves as an instructor for the Memphis District Congress of Christian Education and is a professor for the Jacksonville Theological Seminary. He also served as the President of the Whitehaven District Association and was a home mission board member for the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.
Dr. Saulsberry rejoices in the love of his life, Ruby Nell Meeks-Saulsberry, who he met growing up and has been married to for 60 years. The couple has been blessed with four children: Valeria, Bonnie, Clennon Jr., and Rodney, who are committed to carrying a legacy of service. Mr. and Mrs. Saulsberry are also proud of their fifteen grandchildren.
